Shape Tape is a 6DOF multi-point sensor in tape form that can be handheld, attached or built into objects to measure shape and changing shapes. At the heart of ShapeTape is a thin flexible of ribbon with fiber optic sensors that knows it's own shape and position at all times. ShapeTape captures and translates its complete movement in real-time into 3D digital data and comes in standard and customizable lengths. Some ShapeTape uses in VR are:

ShapeTape is a 6DOF multi-point sensor in tape form that can be handheld, attached or built into objects to track movement. At the heart of ShapeTape is a thin flexible of ribbon with fiber optic sensors that knows it's own shape and position at all times. You can bend ShapeTape, roll it and more, all the while capturing real-time, 3D movement. ShapeTape comes in standard and customizable lengths.
ShapeSensor Applications:
- MRI Joint Angle and Movement Sensing - Joint angle ShapeSensors as with ShapeTape are available for use in both mobile and fixed-site MRI facilities.
- Joint Angle Sensing - Use the S700 Joint Angle ShapeSensor to measure knees, arms, or other single degree of freedom joints of humans, animals, or machines.
- Miniature Joint Angle Sensing - The S720 ShapeSensor can be used to measure the angle of any small 1 degree of freedom joint including finger, toes, or mechanical parts.
