CCTV Interrogator Software
CCTV Interrogator provides the viewing of digitised CCTV video and data after CCTV surveying. The system provides the ability to score faults along pipe length and to grade pipes according to UK Water Industry Engineering and Operations Committee Sewer Condition Classification. This system provides an effective view of the pipe infrastructure below ground in a real time real image photo/video graphic environment.
In 2002 Interrogator was part of a strategic project alliance for Dwr Cymru Welsh Water involving a pipe refurbishment project which encompasses the whole of Wales. This resulted in the partnership being contracted to digitise approx. 300,000-500,000 meters of CCTV video per annum and to manage the 4 databases which hold data for the 4 designated geographic areas. Interrogator software has been installed into 8 allied contractors within this alliance.
All database data is housed with a SQL server database on Writemedia's server. Digital video is now available for download through the application.
The Utilities sector, to which Interrogator software relates, is under continuous pressure from OFWAT to meet targets of performance. This has resulted in the setting up of strategic groups of related contractors and a remit to use whatever innovative means are available to provide operational efficiencies in surveying, identification, quick, efficient and accurate reporting, effective access to site for maintenance and renewal. The imperative therefore placed on this sector is one, which leads itself to multi-media technologies in order to provide additional operational efficiencies within the function of this aspect of asset management. These efficiencies can assist at risk assessment and the provision of access to the CCTV surveyor - to the transferring of data and reporting - to subsequent engineering and structural reports and finally the information, which is provided to the structural maintenance operatives.
